For around 40 years, Harts Gas & Food has been a staple in Washington City. Right off the Washington Exit, Harts was always the place that my family would stop in before EVERY road trip! This was the place you'd get "The Big Chill", treats, even eggrolls. But after all this time, Harts is NO MORE! I was shocked to see it.

While Harts has always been named one of Southern Utah's FAVORITE Gas Stations/Convenience Stores, it will sure be hard calling it by another name.

THE NEW NAME:

Harts has now been bought out and rebranded as "On The Run" stations. Their branding is bright yellow and blue, and maybe i'm biased, but it just doesn't look as pleasing to the eye as HARTS with red writing, paired with hearts in the logo.

Now, going inside Harts, everything seems exactly the same! Even the employees are still donning their iconic Harts black polos. The employee yesterday told us that they've been bought out and changed the name, but still everyone refers to them as Harts... even the employees. But the scars are still there to remind us that this was once a Harts, and even some signs are still up.

WHAT IS ON THE RUN?

On The Run is a cluster of convenience stores/gas stations with locations ALL OVER Canada! They've got some locations in Montana, Idaho, and North Dakota. They seem to be a Canadian company, and with Harts, they're moving into Utah and beyond.

Harts appears to have been owned by Rhinehart Oil. Their website still stands showing their brands and 7 locations, with Washington being on that list.

Will this deter you from stopping in at Harts in Washington in the future?
