Post Malone was on Theo Von's podcast, This Past Weekend, and he was telling stories about his career, family and life. Shockingly, Utah was the hero of his story. That's right, the man with more hits and tattoos than we can count is officially crediting the state of Utah for his happiness revival.

It all started when Posty and Theo were talking about a recent  George Strait & Chris Stapleton concert, which of course Posty was at. In the middle of their chat, Theo cuts in with “Utah’s so great, man!” and without skipping a beat, Malone comes in hot with “It’s amazing!” They were in full Utah fanboy mode when Theo mentions that his brother lives right outside of Zion National Park, in Rockville.

UTAH CHANGED POSTY'S LIFE:

Then Posty hits us with some real talk: Moving to Utah changed his life. Cue the mic drop. He goes on to share that after five years of surviving in LA’s soul-sucking, vibe-killing energy, he was over it. In his own words: “I can’t do it. I can’t do it anymore! It’s beautiful, but I always felt like this oppressive energy. There’s always something to do, and there’s always something someone wants from you.”

Relatable, right? But here’s the kicker—he did a show in Utah, fell in love, and a week later, boom—he bought a house. “It was the best decision I’ve made!” Post Malone basically took one look at Utah’s wide-open spaces and went full cowboy mode. Theo, not to be outdone, chimed in about how his recent shows in Utah and Idaho have been the best of his career. Clearly, something’s in the water (or maybe the mountains) out here.

But the real heart-punch came when Post opened up about why Utah means so much to him. He said:

"I’ve moved to Utah. I got rid of my social media. I keep way more to myself. I don’t really go out anymore. You know for a long time, I was very sad. I’ve found myself now getting back into what is fun to me and what I love doing... I just got a really awesome piece of property where I can sit and fish and be to myself. And I've wondered for the longest time why I was so sad, and it was just because I wasn't able to do what I like to do in my current circumstance. And I think it's important for anyone who's doing anything to be able to get out and take some time for yourself, and for the longest time I didn't do that."
