Last year Jazz fans were able to experience the pure joy of accessible Utah Jazz games without the restriction’s and limitations of a big time regional sports network.

A direct-to-consumer streaming service was a breath of fresh air put forth by the Smith Entertainment Group for a fanbase that had struggled to find ways to watch their favorite team.

The service, known as Jazz +, allowed fans “unprecedented access to the organization via live games, exclusive footage, and other new, original video-on-demand content that highlights the best of the Jazz and the beauty of Utah.” (NBA.com)

From your TV, the app, or just online you could finally watch the Jazz with a quick login.

Near the year anniversary of when Jazz + launched, Utah has developed a need for more sports coverage and streaming services with the addition of the Utah Hockey Club of the NHL.

With Ryan Smith, the owner of both the Jazz and Hockey Club, being the chairman of the Smith Entertainment Group it should come with little shock that a bundle plan has arrived before the first NHL game of the year.

SEG + is the name of the bundle plan, running at $174.99 for the season.

With SEG +, fans can take in over 150 live Utah Jazz and Utah Hockey Club regular season games throughout the year, getting the most out of Utah professional sports.

It has DVR functionality, insider content, and comes with two tickets to a Jazz or Utah Hockey Club game while throwing in a 50 % off a one time purchase at either team’s store.

But what if you only want Hockey?

We know that Jazz + is around, but if your uninterested in the hoops side of the beehive state, SEG has announced that Utah HC + will be the hockey only side of things for their offered streaming plans.

Annual, Monthly and single game subscriptions are available for both Jazz + and Utah HC+.

The pricing is as follows:

As one can see the Jazz subscriptions packs a heavier punch on the wallet at $125 for the season or $19.99 per month.

A purchase of the Jazz + annual subscription lands two tickets to a preseason game, a downgrade to last year’s regular season offer, that is if purchased before September 30th.

Utah HC+ runs $69.99 annually or $14.99 a month.

An annual subscription purchased here gives fans two tickets to a Utah Hockey Club game in their inaugural season.

Whether that means preseason or regular season is not specified and must also be done before September 30th.

All well and good by themselves, the pricing alone on the two individual subscriptions makes SEG +, the service offering both the Jazz and Hockey Club, seem like a pretty stout deal even if your interest in hockey is still in the earliest stage.

It’s practically $50.00 more for diehard basketball fan’s that ran with Jazz + last season to get a solid feeling for the world of hockey and Utah’s newest pride and joy.

If you already have bunny ears, cable or a streaming service that carries either KJZZ (home of the Utah Jazz) or Utah 16 (Home of the Hockey Club) you will still have access to these games as they will be present on the local channels as well.

Not only does Utah have more influence in the world of professional sports now, but the fans themselves have more way's to indulge in those sports than ever before.
