Happy Hallow’s Eve Utah fans.

Whether your dressing as Raygun, generic Cowboy #72 or aren’t participating in the frightening festivities at all, Halloween still has something for non trick or treaters.

There are parties, movies, stories and all sorts of shenanigans one can participate in, and if you have no interest in anything of the celebratory sort, there are still sports.

Thursday night football between the Jets and Texans goes down tonight.

The Charlotte 49ers host the Tulane Green Wave for an American Athletic Conference clash in college football week 10 action.

Already we see two prime reasons in which you can utilize to drown out the noise of children knocking on your door.

There are 7 NHL games and 4 NBA games.

Among those the Utah Jazz host the San Antonio Spurs where Utah fans hope the team can dress up as a competitive basketball team.

Jazz fans have been left terrified due to an 0-4 start, horrific injuries already befalling the roster, and a general overall lack of fight.

But fret not, it isn't just Halloween that has Jazz fans feeling uncertain, even with the 1-3 Spurs in town.

See this whole “losing” basketball games has been going on for quite some time.

It all began last season after the All-Star Break in which Utah finished the season with a 5-21 record to close out the 2023-2024 season.

It was so bad at times that Utah won one of those 5 games on March 15th against the Atlanta Hawks, and then didn’t win another game until April 11th against the Rockets.

That is days away from being an entire month, a time frame in which they lost 13 straight games.

So starting the year out with loss after loss isn't new or surprising or at least it shouldn’t be, but it’s crazy to think about when given full context.

Literally since last year's All-Star break the Jazz have played 30 games including the start of this season, and have won 5 games in that span.

Now to make this point even more dark and dreary let’s enter Utah’s newest professional sports team.

The NHL’s Utah Hockey Club has played approximately 11 regular season games to this point and after beating the Calgary Flames 5-1 last night, have a record of 5-4-2.

Statistical guru “StatMuse” on X took this data and made an observation that would chill Jazz fans.

Since February of this year the Jazz would play 26 games and the 4 more after a full off season break.

Yet they have the same amount of wins as a franchise that didn’t officially play a regular season game until October 8th, not even a month ago.

How’s that for scary?

So if you have concerns about the Jazz being unable to properly give themselves the best draft lottery odds possible, it appears as if you should stop fretting.

Tonight’s game against the Spurs should be a good litmus test to see just how low the Jazz can truly go when they tip off at 7:00 Utah time.
