You know the pictures online of the 22 year old college student?

She has blue hair, she's taking a selfie, and her shirt says "eat the rich", or "end capitalism" or something, and she's holding her iPhone and she's got a Starbuck's grande cafe latte, and she's wearing a Fitbit, and she has a Walmart gift card, and she owns stock in Nvidia, and she's eating a McDonald's snack wrap...

She hates capitalism but she's clearly enjoying its products.

Today I am that girl.

Everyday I say how much the transfer portal and NIL have ruined college football and how Nick Saban needs to save it and Tommy Tuberville in congress needs get a vote and how the soul and the tradition of the sport has been destroyed. But last night I was jumping up and down for the beloved Asperger twins, Curt Cignetti and Fernando Mendoza. I was yelling the who who hoosier chant. I was a one and a two and a you know what to do.

I hate the portal and the NIL, but I love the product.

What's the most embarrassing thing in sports?

The butt fumble, Leon Lett, Dan Orlovsky running out the back of the end zone, Chris Webber calling a timeout. Jose Canseco having the ball bounce of his head for home run...

Those are all pretty bad, but for me the most embarrassing thing in sports right now is a full capacity Huntsman Center when Utah hosts BYU in basketball. You have a sea of people in red shirts screaming their heads off, doing chants, running the MUSS flag up the seats, and it's absolutely humiliating. They only come for one game a year and act like they're these huge fans! It's pathetic. They shouldn't be wearing red utes shirts, because they're not really fans of Utah basketball. The only reason they're at there is because of BYU, they should be wearing blue.

When Kevin Durant went to the Warriors in 2016, Steph Curry got demoted to the second banana. Curry was the MVP of the league the year before. Durant comes in the next year and Curry doesn't get to have as much fun anymore. His shots go down, his points go down, his FG% goes down by 4 points, his 3 point make total for the season goes down by 80 in the same amount of games played, of course they have a great year and win the championship easily, but Curry's year individually wasn't as fun because Durant was the top dog. It's just how it goes when you add the best player in the league to your team.

That's what I thought was going to happen to Richie Saunders this year. Last year he was the surprise star of BYU. Flippin around, making big shots, flying into the lane, hair floppin, got BYU to a 6 seed in the tournament and he was all big 12 and got to be the man. Then they add AJ Dybansta this year, who has arguably been the best player in the country so far, but somehow Richie's season has been just as fun this year. He just went for a career high 31 points against Arizona State, he's scoring more this year, he's shooting more times a game than last year, he's making more threes, more trips to the free throw line more assists. Adding AJ hasn't put Richie in the shadows, it's somehow done the opposite.
