St George, Utah Company Found In NASCAR
As one of the few Utah NASCAR fans there are, I often take pride in bringing up the sport in conversation whenever I can.
Do my family, friends and acquaintances appreciate that?
Most likely not, but I've made it somewhat of a personal goal to sneak a NASCAR reference into as many conversations I can in hope that people may ask to learn more. (They don’t.)
So, here’s my weekly “did you know” NASCAR fact for you applying to our beautiful state of Utah, and more specifically, sunny St. George.
This week saw America’s #1 racing series in Arizona at Phoenix International Raceway for the Shriner’s Children 500, the 4th official race of the 2025 season.
Some things to note where these:
Christopher Bell, a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing (yes, that Joe Gibbs), rattled off his third straight win of the season in his #20 Toyota.
The finish was pretty dang tight, so there’s that.
The race featured a bit more carnage than it typically does for a track of it’s size and speed:
And the #10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet, driven by Ty Dillon, featured a sponsor this week of a Southern Utah variety.
Hybrid Light, a business specializing in a variety of lights, headlamps, lanterns and power panels adorned the car that finished the race in the 16th spot.
Per their website at hybridlight.com they are a “pioneer of solar powered mobile lighting and charging solutions.”
In the contact section of their site the area code is the well recognized “435”.
This isn’t an ad or a product review, frankly I've never known of the company, but to see new brands, logos, designs plastered about at the top level of NASCAR is always a good time in the world of advertising.
It goes to show that advertising even in sports is still a somewhat valuable tool despite the ability to push your own brand through social media and the internet alone.
Even if a person doesn’t buy your product or need it at that particular time, they’ll remember the name down the road.
For a sport as sponsor dependent as NASCAR, the current idea of value in sponsorship is music to their ears.
This last race at Phoenix featured big brands such as Bass Pro Shops, Monster Energy, NAPA auto parts, Celsius, Family Dollar, Sports Clips and more.
Yet for every big brand was a smaller, less known one, using the opportunity to get some more recognition while looking cool on a race car.
Hybrid Light, Ram Self Storage and Mighty Fire Breaker are just some of those.
There is still clearly a space for advertising done right in the world of sports, and if it’s on the body of a car going over 130 miles per hour, it’ll likely leave a better impression than a 30 second commercial interrupting your favorite event every ten minutes.
The next time these cars take the track will be in Las Vegas for the Pennzoil 400 this upcoming Sunday at 1:30 Utah time.
