Finally, some good pub for the Jazz...

After a month or two hearing Donovan Mitchell criticizing Salt Lake and the fanbase, this awesome story broke last night.

Per NBACentral on Twitter, the Utah Jazz are paying homeless people to clean up the Vivint Smart Home Arena after games.

This is awesome. We all know that Salt Lake, like most metro areas in the country, has a homeless issue. Per YardBarker.com:

"Homelessness is a massive problem in most US states right now and Utah is no different. The Gardner Policy Institute says that 76% of Utahns are priced out of home ownership, with Wendy Garvin, executive director of Unsheltered Utah saying that there are more homeless families than there are shelters to support them." The fact that Jazz owner Ryan Smith and the organization are doing something to help is awesome and also innovative. I wouldn't be surprised if more NBA teams do something like this. It's one thing to give to shelters and charities, but to give them work is really cool.

The Jazz have always been awesome in the community. Here's a tweet from 2011 in which the organization hosted Thanksgiving for the homeless in SLC.

This comes just weeks before the Utah Jazz will host the NBA All-Star Game on February 19th. I'm eager to see what Smith and the Jazz have in store to further increase their brand reputation in the NBA. Smith has already done an awesome job since he took over a few years ago.
