#1 Recruit in the World Will Play Ball in Hurricane
Utah Prep’s Move to Southern Utah
A basketball academy that has been based in northern Utah is moving into what was once Diamond Ranch Academy just off Route 9 on the way to Sand Hollow State Park. It is Utah Prep Academy, and it has become a place where elite athletes come to play and learn.
Utah Prep has some impressive basketball players at their school, but none greater than next year's biggest basketball recruit in AJ Dybantsa who will play his senior season right here in Southern Utah. He is originally from Massachusetts and spent last year at Prolific Prep in California.
Dybantsa is being recruited by the biggest schools in the country including Duke, Kentucky, and UConn as well as in-state schools BYU and Utah. It is pretty cool to think such a high level of basketball is going on in our own backyard.
Will Utah Prep’s Coming Mean No Team in Region 9 Will Ever Win Again?
No need to worry about Utah Prep dominating Southern Utah schools. They are not sanctioned to play in Utah High School Activities and they compete in a league that has talent more on their level. They even play against some college teams.
I hope there are opportunities for locals to watch Dybantsa and the other amazing basketball players do their thing. It is not every day you get to see future NBA All-stars display their skills, but with Utah Prep in Hurricane, it could be.

One more thing, I did my part for basketball in my high school years, and I would be happy to lend my services again. People said I was great at getting the players water and that I delivered some “high quality H2O”.
