Picture Yourself Driving Around Your Utah Neighborhood in a Surplus Military Tank
The military has built a ton of tanks and other vehicles over the years. When these wear out, some of them are sold as military surplus. Surprisingly, if you have dreamed of your own personal army, you can purchase a tank of your very own.
3 Awesome Tanks You Can Buy
There are actually several places you can purchase a tank to rumble around in your backyard. There are many military vehicles for sale, but these are three of the coolest I could find.
German Kettenkrad Motorcycle with Tank Like Tracks
A small tank with a handle bars on the front. This might be the best motorcycle I have ever seen. Can you imagine showing up at Sturgis riding this thing? It was built in 1944 and was used to transport troops and lay communication wires.
One of these sold in 2021 for $129,500
Sherman is What You Picture When You Say Tank
Tons of these tanks were built for WWII and just saying the name "Sherman" makes you want to finish with tank. I love these guys in the video driving down a suburban road as if they were in a mini van.
Cost is in the neighborhood of $355,000
1931 Christie M1931 Was the Fastest Tank
This tank reached speeds of 104 mph. Built in 1928, this thing was made to fly and included independent suspension. You could easily drive down I-15 without even hitting top speed.
Unfortunately I can't find any of these for sale. They are all in museums. But a scale model sells for $65.
