Grow Up Big and Strong Without the Vegetables
I don’t know how they do it, but the Uncrustables made by Smuckers are a favorite. Found in the freezer aisle, these little round pieces of bread stuffed with peanut butter and jelly are just the right balance. They are especially good on a hot Southern Utah day.
Turns out it isn’t just the kids who have found these new packaged peanut butter and jelly sandwiches irresistible. In an article on Fox they found that NFL teams provide Uncrustables to their players and they are downing them in the thousands.
That’s right. The biggest, strongest, most fit athletes in world are reaching for the same snacks from the freezer as your twelve-year-old. Not just a few, but 80,000 of these crustless wonders are eaten a year in the NFL.
The Best Way to Eat an Uncrustable
My favorite is the grape variety, and they are good thawed or frozen. Straight out of the freezer, they can be a crunchy treat like a popsicle with texture. However, the best way to eat them, in my opinion, is a combination of the two.
Take it frozen from the wrapper and drop it in a toaster. This heats up and browns the bread but leaves the middle still partially frozen. It is a delicious combination and perfect when the weather outside is warm.
