New 2026 List of Best Places To Live Includes 8 Utah Cities But Not Park City

US News & World Report put out a list of the 250 best places to live in the United States. It isn't too surprising to see what cities in Utah were included, but it is a little head scratching to see what cities were left off.

Factors Behind the Rankings

They looked mostly at the cost of living compared to the median income along with how long it takes to get to work. These factors could make living in an area better or worse unless you just work from home.

There were 8 Utah cities on the list and none of them were glamorous ones like Park City or Salt Lake. The fastest growing cities, Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain, didn't make the cut although people seem to be happy moving there.

Utah Cities That Made the List

The first Utah city to appear is South Jordan and it clocks in at #76. Median home values are high at $633,984 but that's made up for a median income in the $130,633 range. Who knew wages were so high there.

The top city in the U.S. was Carmel, Indiana. This place has a median home price of just $477,625 and a median household income of $144,615. Fishers, Indiana is second on the list with similar numbers. You could buy a lot of house living in Indiana.
