There is a Pool Season?

The pool looked inviting, but no one was sun tanning or swimming. Seeing it as an opportunity I went and changed into my swimming suit excited for a dip. I got the pool pool key; the door was unlocked so I set up camp on one of the pool chairs. After warming in the sun, I jumped into the water only to find that it was very cold despite it being mid-day. This was a visit to Phoenix which in my mind equaled an eternal summer. As I exited after a short swim the maintenance pool dude showed up. He laughed and told me that technically the pool was closed for the season.

The Pool is Now Open

In an area that seems to skip seasons this can be confusing, especially for those of us who are used to the northern temperatures. Some of us start to feel stir crazy about this time of year and pine to have some place to take a swim. If this is you then here is some good news. Pool season is open in the southern part of Utah and Nevada.

That means it might be time to plan a short vacation to your favorite hotel or better yet Airbnb with water features and get an early swim into your vacation. Nothing sends off the winter like a dip in a pool. So inflate the water toys, get ready to yell "No Running" to your kids and let's get swimming.
