Laundry App

If you like doing laundry or hate it, you need to know about this app that was developed right here in Utah. It has been called the Uber for laundry and depending on if you want to work your own hours making some extra money, or you want more time by paying someone else to clean your clothes, this could be your answer.

It is the Poplin app and has been called the "Uber for laundry". It was developed by a guy named Mort Fertel when his wife complained about not being able to click her phone and get the laundry for their five kids done. Now based in Lehi, it is available in cities across the nation.

What Does It Cost?

On their site it says it will run you $1 per pound and $2 if you want something special done for your clothes. They can pick it up or you can drop it off. It comes back to you clean and folded and they say they won’t lose your socks. The average load will cost you $10.

If laundry is your passion, they have opportunities for you to work as a side hustle or full time. This could be just the thing if you want to work odd hours or if you have a work from home job already and want to increase your productivity. Just don’t tell your current boss.

This is a pretty awesome idea as laundry can be drudgery. Although, sometimes I wonder if in the future the most physical thing we will do is lift our finger to tap the next app. We’ll look like those guys from the Wall-E movie watching videos and unable to walk.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
