Everybody loves to swim, especially when it gets hot in Southern Utah. Should you build a pool in your backyard? Is it better to visit city pools and friends who have one? Maybe you should build a pool and rent it out. Yes, that has become a thing.

Here's from the Swimply website.

Turn your extra pool time into extra income so that you can pursue more of what you love.

It looks pretty easy to sign up your pool and rent it by the hour. Just as easy to find a pool and rent it. I found several in the St. George area.

Southern Utah with all our sunshine is a good place to build a pool. I talked with Garth Gooch of Stilson & Gooch Pool Plastering. “You put a pool in a backyard in Southern Utah and that pool will get its value,” said Gooch. “It will also give you access to more buyers.”

I have a pool in my backyard that we use less and less every year. It is great when people come to visit, but otherwise, we are not wearing it out. Even though I don’t jump in it every day, it is nice to sit on the back porch and look at that blue sparkling water.

This new way to rent out your pool might be a good option. You get all the benefits of having a pool and also get paid when you are not using it. Of course, having people you don’t know running around you backyard might be kind of weird too.
