Many people in Utah were stunned to find out that Luke Nichols of the Outdoor Boys Channel was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and were excited when he was named to a Young Men General Advisory Council for the church.

Fans of Nichols who have come to know more about him and his family through his videos have generally thought that he will be great in this position. His actions in the last week show just how good of a man he really is.

Why Luke Nichols Retired from YouTube

The Outdoor Boys channel has grown in popularity over the last ten years, with many videos getting millions of views. Luke Nichols built the channel with wilderness camping and projects done with his growing family.

In spring of last year, he released a video letting those who follow him know that he would no longer be putting out content. Nichols said he wanted to be with his family more, and he thought you have to know when it is enough.

Later in the year, it was announced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that Luke would be one of a handful of men to serve as an advisor to the new Young Men’s Presidency.

Helping Others in Need Displays Character

That brings us to this week when people were surprised to find Luke Nichols had released another video. However, you won’t find it on the Outdoor Boys Channel, it is on a lesser-known outdoor channel named My Life Outdoors.

Turns out he filmed and edited the video and gave it to Steven who runs My Life Outdoors because his wife is going through cancer treatments, and it is taking him away from posting videos and growing that channel.

My Life Outdoors gets around 100k views on his videos which isn’t bad at all. The video posted by Luke Nichols is already over 10 million. Because those views go to Steven’s channel, all the proceeds will be his.

This simple act of kindness by Nichols will make it possible for Steven to take the time with his wife without worry. Helping someone in need with little fanfare, this is the kind of man that can impact youth in a positive way.
