Dwight Schrute and the Tabernacle Choir

Just days before General Conference, actor Rainn Wilson, better known as beet-farming assistant-to-the-regional-manager Dwight Schrute, popped up singing with the Tabernacle Choir and meeting with Peter M. Johnson. At this point, Utahns are naturally asking the next logical question: how far does this go?

Today it's choir practice. Tomorrow he's standing at the pulpit delivering a talk titled, "Bears, Battlestar Galactica, and Becoming Better People."

How Much Schrute Is Too Much Schrute?

The real question is where Church leaders draw the line.

Will Rainn introduce a choir number?

Offer a devotional on workplace conflict?

Teach a breakout session called "Emergency Preparedness According to a Man Who Stores Crossbows"?

Maybe.

Would anyone complain? Also maybe.

Would anyone watch? Absolutely.

A Bear Expert for the Modern Age

Fresh off Alaska's Fat Bear Week, perhaps Rainn's true destiny is educating Conference viewers on which bear is best.

Black bear.

Brown bear.

Backpack, the newly crowned Fat Bear Week champion.

Or maybe the spiritual bear within us all.

The Most Utah Crossover Ever

In reality, Wilson was in Utah working on a documentary about religions and joined the choir during rehearsal.

But if a General Conference talk starts to center on the power of beets take note to see if somehow, Rainn worked his way onto the speaker lineup.
