People in Utah Want to Vacation in a Place Similar to Where They Live
The early part of the year can feel like a grind. That must be why we start searching vacation destinations around this time. Last year, a site looked at the international destinations searched most by each state.
The Highest Number of States Were Looking Towards the Mediterranean
When it comes to traveling internationally, most people in the United States were looking at Greece or the Netherlands. These are nice locations and I can understand the interest.
The third most searched location was Indonesia which is surprising to me. I can only assume it is for the beaches of Bali. There was some interest in Italy and even Mexico, but Utah was looking for more mountains.
Utah and Kentucky Were The Only States to Search This Destination
For some reason last year Utah was looking at places in Switzerland. Maybe we just feel comfortable in places with super tall mountains. I think that country looks beautiful and certainly worth a visit.
When it comes to a destination domestically, Utah is usually looking for place in Hawaii. Maybe after we get our fill of the beach we start checking out other mountains to hike. It will be interesting to see if this year is the same.

I like New Mexico the best. Where were they searching for an international vacation? It was Old Mexico of course. They don't even need a plane, just drive across the border.
