Washington County Seeks Major Dixie Convention Center Renovation With Thirty Million Dollar Budget
The Dixie Center is Getting a Face-Lift, and Time is Ticking
Well, pack your bags and grab your blueprints, because Washington County is putting some serious cash where its conventions are and you are invited. That is to say they are open to proposals so you or your firm could be participants. The Dixie Convention Center is laying down a hard proposal deadline of Friday, October 30, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
If you want a piece of this $30 million action, you’d better roll up your sleeves and get moving.
The Big, Expensive Makeover
They are planning to bolt on an extra 117,145 square feet of new space to the existing 170,697-square-foot structure. County leaders envision a sprawling, two-story addition tacked onto the south end of the venue—an area that is currently a glamorous truck drop-off zone. The blueprints call for more flexible setups, additional meeting and breakout rooms, and potentially a brand-new ballroom to give the facility some extra flair. It's an aggressive design step to keep St. George from turning away millions in overbooked event business.
Clock’s Ticking
If you are planning on making a submission don't think you can just slide your proposal under the door at 4:01 p.m. You need to get your paperwork directly to the Washington County Commission Office on Tabernacle Street before the clock strikes four. Email Nicholle Felshaw at nicholle.felshaw@washco.utah.gov if you still need the official RFP packet.
