Yes, those songs from the early 2000s like Smashing Pumpkins, Greenday, or Creed, these are now considered “new dad rock”. I know, that was when music was really good and what young people listen to today is trash.
Each States Favorite Dad Rock Band
Sorry, but this information might make you feel a bit old. Back in 2024 Merchoid did a survey where they asked people in each state what band they thought epitomized a dad rock band.
Number one was Nickelback at 26% followed by Van Halen with 12%. Yeah, that's dad rock. But Van Halen tied with Blink182 at 12%. That is going to sting a little if you just realized you’re favorite band t-shirt is in the vintage category.
