In their final home game of the season, the Southern Utah University (SUU) Men's Basketball team showcased resilience but fell short against Tarleton St. Despite an impressive start led by Zion Young's remarkable performance, the Thunderbirds couldn't maintain their momentum, resulting in an 88-83 victory for the Texans.

Head Coach Rob Jeter expressed pride in his team's relentless spirit, emphasizing their refusal to surrender even when facing adversity. Despite a challenging season, he acknowledged the unwavering support of SUU fans, underscoring the significance of their encouragement.

The game began with Zion Young's explosive start, single-handedly outscoring the Texans in the initial minutes. However, Tarleton St. gradually regained control, leading 39-37 at halftime. Despite efforts to contain Young, who finished with a career-high 29 points, the Thunderbirds couldn't secure a victory.

Chazz Hutchison, another senior, delivered a standout performance with 12 points and exceptional accuracy from the field. Additionally, Dominique Ford and Prophet Johnson contributed significantly, showcasing their skills both offensively and defensively.

Despite shooting nearly 50% from the field and displaying efficient three-point shooting, the Thunderbirds couldn't overcome Tarleton St.'s determined play. With a record of 9-20 overall and 4-14 in conference play, SUU has been eliminated from the WAC Postseason Tournament.

Looking ahead, the Thunderbirds will conclude their season with road games against Stephen F Austin and UTRGV. These matchups present opportunities for SUU to finish the season on a positive note despite the challenges they've faced.

As the season draws to a close, the SUU Men's Basketball team remains focused on finishing strong and building on the lessons learned throughout the year.
