The Thunderbirds are in for a challenge, facing some strong opponents with impressive records from the 2022 season. They will kick off the year on August 31st, 2023, facing a tough Arizona State team, a member of the PAC-12 with a competitive history. This first game will be a big test for Southern Utah, giving them a chance to see how they compare with a team from a historically great conference.

After the Sun Devils, the T-birds will head north to Provo for a match up with the BYU Cougars. This will only be the second time that these two teams will have played against each other. The first meeting, also up in Provo was in 2016 where the T-Birds suffered a 37-7 loss.

The first time fans will be able to see the Thunderbirds play at home won't be until September 23rd when the Leathernecks from Western Illinois will invade Eccles Coliseum. This will also be the Homecoming Day for SUU.
