LPGA Epson Tour 2024 Comes To Southern Utah: An Inside Look
The Ladies Professional Golf Association Annual Epson Tour is back in Southern Utah with Copper Rock Golf Course as the stunning backdrop.
Now, I am not a golf fanatic and even I had an amazing time seeing these ladies in action. Hundreds of people came to watch, participate, and compete. The astounding number of local volunteers was great to see!
If you are used to rodeos, baseball games, or any other loud sports, this may come as a shock. There is an insane amount of silence out of respect for the golfers playing. They need absolute concentration and even the roaming golf carts come to a stop during a play.
Light rounds of applause can be heard all over the course during different plays but otherwise, talking, shouting, and any rambunctiousness is just not present. It was a pleasant surprise since my usual sports adventures include hooting and hollering.
There were some local competitors such as Utah Tech University golfers Grace Williams and Katie Ford.
Of course, several competitors from out of the country made their way to Southern Utah to compete and are still doing so through tomorrow.
This sport requires incredible grit and concentration that I deeply admire. A special shout out to Penny James-Garcia, the Copper Rock Golf Course Volunteer and Events Coordinator for inviting me out on Thursday.
If you missed the event this week, I have good news. There is another one next week, the 2024 Senior Championship also held at Copper Rock Golf Course. The event will take place from May 23-25. You can purchase your tickets here.
