It's nice to get a reminder of just what a beautiful area we live in. Southern Utah has 2 of the top 10 picturesque sights in the country according to a report published on the website FlySleepPark. The website compiled the information based on the number of times a location was tagged on Instagram.

Bryce Canyon landed at number 6 on the list. It's only an hour from Cedar City, and if you haven't made the trip in a while, it could be time for another look. Getting to Bryce takes you a little further off the beaten path then a trip to Zion National Park, but is truly worth time. The views are glorious and the crowds can often be a little less pressing. Plus, all the amenities you could possibly want while you travel are available at nearby Bryce Canyon City, home of the only traffic signal in all of Garfield County. If you want some bonus beauty, visit Lookout Point in the winter.

You Might See Angels

While all of Zion National Park is full of beauty and wonders to behold, Angels Landing was specifically tagged by enough Instagram users to show up at number 9 on the list of most picturesque place in the country. The hike to this location does take time, and you'll need the ability to endure a moderately hard trail, but the view when when you get there? Heavenly. If you're looking for a place to stay you'll find all you need in nearby Springdale.

It's Really Grand

And of you are looking for the top rated picturesque sight in America, you won't have to go far. OK, so it's not in Utah, but it's right next door. The Grand Canyon had the most tags on Instagram. You can't go wrong here. A quick trip down Highway 89 or 89A to Cameron, Arizona and you're on the way to the extremely popular South Rim of the Grand Canyon. If you like things a little more out of the way, head to Jacob Lake and take the road to the North Rim. Crowds are a little thinner there, and the air is often cooler. While you can access the South Rim year round, winter access is not available to the North Rim.

California had the most picturesque locations on this top 30 list with 4. Utah did well with 2. Western states that didn't make the list include Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.
