When he broke the news his basketball days were behind him, many took to social media to post their memories of the former NABC Division 1 player of the year.
Historically, BYU is no stranger to the 6th seed, and although previous teams accolades in regards to being a six have nothing to do with this new era of Cougars, it’s fun to see what they’ve done in a similar spot in years past.
After the dust settled in Tucson on Saturday, a game in which BYU emerged victorious in a 96-95 win at the McKale Center, the Cougars had accomplished something they hadn’t done since 1988.
In only their second ever Big 12 matchup, BYU not only played KU off the floor but set multiple new benchmarks, accomplishing rare feats that Kansas wasn’t accustomed too nor had ever seen the likes of.
Demin was expected to break this streak as a “one and done type of talent” but how high he would go in the draft would be dependent upon his season at BYU. And it’s off to a great start.
