Cam Rising was asked at least two different times during the end of the season if he was going to come back and each time he said that he likely wouldn't return after this season.

Rising is the best quarterback the Utes have had since Alex Smith, but maybe since ever. So it's understandable that Utah fans have been obsessed with finding out whether he'd be back or not.

Here's the announcement that came out earlier today:

Now, we know Utah has a young quarterback they're excited about in Nate Johnson who is a track star from Clovis, California. He came in a little bit this year, but mainly just to run in goal line situations, and he only attempted one pass this year. His biggest asset seems to be his ability to run. See below:

But with the PAC 12 having maybe the best lineup of quarterbacks returning next season in the history of the conference, it's heartening for Utah fans to have Rising commit to another season.

Here's who the PAC 12 has playing QB next year:

That list includes a Heisman winner (Williams, USC), and the top passer in yardage in the power five (Penix Jr., Washington), and Bo Nix at Oregon who was in the Heisman discussion for most of the year.

Rising had a bad game in the Rose Bowl where his best pass was an underthrown heave to Devaughn Vele. Rising is coming back to improve his draft stock, get healthy, and win his third straight PAC 12 championship.

He's already the most beloved Ute in at least a decade and will make next season one to remember he can take the Utes to a New Years Six win or heaven forbid the playoff. Bad Moon is Back.
